Jihadist thwarted in attack; unlikely hero saves the day

Hero Chihuahua Saves Toddler From Rattlesnake
MASONVILLE, Colo. — Zoey is a Chihuahua, but when a rattlesnake lunged at her owners' 1-year-old grandson, she was a real bulldog.
Booker West was splashing his hands in a birdbath in his grandparents' northern Colorado back yard when the snake slithered up to the toddler, rattled and struck. Five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.

I take back every bad thought I've ever had re: evil chihuahuas. It's good to finally read a story about the nobler side of man's best friend, even if it is a rodent wannabe.

This is another case where we're more than likely to hear from some animal expert--- generally rattle snakes aren't harmful to humans. This snake must have simply mistaken this little toddler for large squirrel.
