Author Rejects UND Honors, Citing 'Sioux' Nickname
(AP) Minneapolis Award-winning author Louise Erdrich has turned down an honorary degree from the University of North Dakota because the university uses the "Fighting Sioux" name and logo for its sports teams.
This is one of my very favorite on-going liberal lunatic stories: the battle over the University of North Dakota's "Fighting Sioux" logo and nickname.

The gist of this whole story is that the logo was created by an Indian artist in North Dakota, and the use of the name and logo is supported by the local tribe. That doesn't seem to stop lunatic liberal activists from beating this dead horse over and over again. I guess this is a nice way for this author to keep her name in the limelight, and keep her liberal fans purchasing her books.
