Sanity prevails in judicial decision: at least for the moment

FARGO, N.D. — The NCAA won't appeal a district judge's decision allowing the University of North Dakota to host a playoff game despite its Fighting Sioux nickname.
Katherine Kersten article on the subject
Never mind that a well-known Indian artist designed the UND logo of a proud Sioux warrior. Never mind that this image resembles the stately Indian on U.S. "buffalo" nickels, and on North Dakota's highway patrol cars and highway signs. Never mind that sports teams choose names that symbolize what they honor -- courage on the battlefield -- not what they mock or despise. The forces of political correctness have embraced this latest victim-creating issue and won't let it go.

Ya know, I grew up watching Looney Tunes and then a couple years ago I watched some re-runs but noticed Speedy Gonzales never came on. Didn't think anything bout it until a friend told me 'they' decided that Speedy was making fun of Mexicans so they took it off the air. I said @#$@#$@#$!#%$% to those %#$#@^%$@#^ lame liberals:o)

I wonder if they'd ever show Quick-Draw McGraw and his trusty sidekick Baba-Looey. The fact that old Baba-looey was the level headed and common sense companion wouldn't make any difference to the censors; just the fact that he was a donkey who spoke with a Mexican accent would give them conniption fits. They probably wouldn't allow Tennessee Tuxedo either because Chumley the walrus, who was rather dim-witted, might offend fat people.
