Oh dear---or---Oh, deer

Bill to Cover Deer Carcasses Dies (FoxNews)
BISMARCK, N.D. — Troubled by the sight of bloody deer carcasses hanging off cars and pickup trucks on North Dakota's highways, state legislator Duane DeKrey proposed a law requiring hunters to throw a tarp over their kills. He might as well have painted a bull's-eye on his back.
The bill caused such an uproar that he withdrew it on Monday, just days later.

Reminds me of the time we were traveling to the Wisconsin Dells, I think it was around Thanksgiving, and we were going to go to some indoor waterparks. It was still during deer-hunting season in WI, and we stopped to eat at a truck-stop.

As we pulled into a parking spot, next to a pick-up truck, Mocha-momma let out with an "oh dear." This is a phrase she uses fairly often when she just thinks of something she forgot. I said what's the matter, and looked over at her. In the truck bed next to us, all I could see were 4 hooves sticking straight up in the air. She meant--- oh, deer. (I guess you had to be there)

This is a fairly common sight up here around God's country during the fall season. You know what must have been really odd to see. Gino's carry-on bag when he flew back from his hunting trip to GA. I think the flight attendants were probably a little taken aback seeing a deer antler sticking out of his garment bag.

Humn, just what politicians were voted to do, make legislations that have little effect on everyday living. So I guess we need to have extra tarps for road kills too eh?

i always transport the carcass in the back of a truck. if anybody is stupid enough to look into the back of truck during deer season, they deserve to see it.
a couple yrs, no truck, so used a flatbed trailer. and yes, for the sake of tender hearts, i tarped it.
but anybody who really looked, could tell what was under there.

as for air travel: by that time, its already rendered into cuts of meat, and packs nicely in suitcases and carry-ons.

all that is really needed, is a little common sense.
not a law.
