OK, so that was an experience; if you filmed this, put it in black/white, you'd think you were viewing some rally from the Nazi era, these people were rabid. As I entered the hallway of the metrodome, I was almost run over by a stampede of guys. Now what could get a large number of leftist guys worked up like this, were they giving away free samples at the queer makeover booth. Well, when I got to the general vicinity, it turned out these were all heterosexual leftists that were worked up; because before me was a presentation taking place by a group of topless anti-war demonstrators.
Turns out they were a professional group of demonstrators from the Berkeley area in California, Boobs For Peace. Lately they’ve been the opening act for the Cindy Sheehan World Tour; but they took time out of their busy schedule to come to Minnesota and do their Bush is Hitler and No War for Oil routine. I guess the organizers got a great discount and only had to pay $10,000 for this appearance. I guess their next gig is an appearance at a Dixie Chicks concert in Des Moines. I asked a lady next to me if she thought these women were doing more than say a right-wing missionary who is actually over in a war zone, risking their life to bring food, or medicine, or any type of comfort to people who are suffering under repressive regimes. In a nutshell----women who risk their lives to show the love of God and provide help right where people are suffering=BAD; women who strut around topless and send out love vibes, then go visit Starbucks after their shows=GOOD. Go figure.
The next thing that struck my eye really hit home, because it was a booth that had the Boy Scouts of America insignia on it. I had no unrealistic expectation that what I would find would be pro-scouts, and I wasn’t surprised. They turned out to be ACLU employees who were promoting their war on the evil and destructive scout organization. Naturally they made no mention of the good that the organization has done for nearly 100 years, or continues to do; but just the fact that a very tiny minority of individuals are offended by some of the policies that they adhere to is enough for the selfishness and intolerance of leftist thinking to take center stage. I asked them what they thought about homosexual congressman preying on minors in the page program; and should policies be put in place that would protect the young pages from being molested and manipulated by authority figures. They proceeded to call me a homophobe and scream about my intolerance; so much for open and civilized debate.
Well, on to the next adventure in this amazing display of leftist thinking.
