JR is starting his gun safety course this week. Which is a very good reason to present the following: (courtesy of anonymous)
The Top Ten Reasons Men Prefer Guns Over Women
#10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.
#9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road.
#8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times.
#7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup.
#6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.
#5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.
#4. Guns function normally every day of the month.
#3. A gun doesn't ask , "Do these new grips make me look fat?"
#2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.
And the number one reason a gun is favored over a woman....

and another: when traveling, its ok to keep your gun in the trunk.
so, what gun did you get him?
We haven't gotten one yet. We haven't been able to squeeze out $200 in our budget. He doesn't need a gun for most of the class, it's three sessions; we'll borrow one for the last day if he needs it.
Hopefully we'll be able to shoot for a X-mas present.
KD, did Mocha Momma endorse this post?
She got a kick out of it.
I generally don't run things by MM before I post; I prefer to live dangerously and let the chips fall where they may. I will say she is my biggest fan, and I love hearing her laugh when she's reading through the posts.
She's also hankering for a gun more than all of us, she loves shooting.
Get at least two--say that 10/22 and a nice model 870 to administer "2 second IQ tests" to burglars.
Here's how you do that; if you hear someone unwelcome in your house, rack a shell into the firing chamber. If you don't hear a quick run to the door, the perp has just qualified himself for a Darwin Award.
I don't know. If the burglar was like the guy who put duct tape on his head, he may be too stupid to know the sound of a round being chambered.
My brother is a cop in Houston, and he's offered to get us a pistol; which I think we might be taking him up on soon as well.
