The king is back in the building

Hello my friends. That wasn’t too long. I just needed a little time to prioritize my passions. The Lord has been teaching us a slew of lessons (hard lessons) for a while now, and one of the biggest has been that rather than spending so much quality time with my blog, I need to be spending much more quality time with my God. Message heard.

Things won’t change too much; after all, He blessed me with a warped sense of humor, I’m going to roll with it. I did repent of my abuse of Rosie O’Donnell; I no longer believe she is the antichrist. On the other hand, I still feel that squirrels are the devil’s minions of the animal kingdom.

I’m sure most of you have seen the movie Airplane. Do you remember the scenes where Lloyd Bridges is in the control tower and he keeps saying things like---“I sure picked a bad day to give up drinking.” That’s what I felt like when the next day, after I shut down, there was a story on FoxNews about a stowaway snake attacking a pilot in the cockpit. I picked a bad day to stop blogging about jihadist animals.

Going forward---no more AKJ or cruise ship mishap totals. I still believe that Willie Wonka was right when he said, “A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.” Seeing as how laughter has been proven to be such a therapeutic necessity in human life, and that God created it, I think I can feel confident I’m serving a purpose in my blogging, at least making an attempt. (kind of like my singing; I can make a joyful noise, but others might not necessarily appreciate it)

I was really impressed that you would shut down your blog and turn your heart towards God. I thought it would be a while so I took your blog off my blogroll. I'll wait to put it back to figure out where to put it.

Yeah, I thought I'd be off longer, but man I love this blogging too much; and the Lord is full of grace. I don't plan on posting anywhere near as much as I used to. It's simply too hard to figure out--we've been going through some of the toughest times in our lives this summer, but we've drawn closer to God like never before. It's wonderful. I pray alot of things change soon; but, the lessons learned have been worth the pain. (p.s. it has nothing to do with our family relationships or our marriage, those have gotten stronger as well)

Like the new logo picture; Bernini's David sure beats Michelangelo's and especially Donatello's, who looks like he just came from an evening in the Castro district.

Good to have you back. There's no shame in posting less frequently. I'll let you know when you've got to pick up the pace. ;)

I may have overreacted slightly. It's funny, because I had been thinking about it for a long time; then, when I made the admission and decided to back off, it seems like the Lord's grace just fell on me and I realized I can still do this thing I love, I just need to focus more on my relationship with Him as I'm doing it. I was pretty obsessed with the blogging for quite a while. I'm slowly turning my obsessive nature to seeking His face.

Welcome back. It's good to see with his priorities in order. I'm still trying to figure out what it means to be a man after God's own heart. David had that label, and he still struggled a bit, if I remember correctly. I guess that's the whole 'sanctification' business....

Steve; I just finished reading a good bio on David by Chuck Swindoll. It did a great job of explaining how David was able to have a heart for God, even while going through some of the most pressing struggles, making huge mistakes and committing some major league sins.
