BEACH ON SHARK ALERT - 15-footer is seen within 20 feet of Rexhame Beach in Marshfield
—Beach-goers spied a 15-foot shark swimming within 20 feet of shore at Rexhame Beach in Marshfield.
Kudos to the person who swam out and actually measured the shark.
—The shark is believed to be a basking shark, which are harmless to humans.
This is quite the statement. I don't think there are any animals that are completely harmless. I remember having a cute little kitten one time---harmless, right---well one day it caught me unawares and took a stab with its claws at a certain dangly part of my body. (no, not the ear lobes) Man that hurt. To make the assumption that a 15 foot shark would be harmless should only pass through the brain of a PETAphile.
— There have only been four shark attacks recorded in Massachusetts, according to the International Shark Attack File.
There can only be two explanations. They don't like the taste of liberals; or, the Kennedy family doesn't like the competition, and keeps them away.
— The only reported fatal shark attack in Massachusetts occurred in Buzzards Bay in 1936.
So, it's official, sharks are actually responsible for less deaths in MA than the Kennedy clan, amazing.
