If I ever had a trivia question posed about whether Martin Luther was married, I would have gotten it wrong. This came as a total surprise. Evidently, she was a German nun. A monk and a nun, they must have been quite the party animals. She looks like she might have been something before electricity. (quick, what movie is that a reference to)
This reminds me of a joke: a horse walks into a bar, and the bartender asks, why the long face.

And they must of enjoyed each other's company, as Mrs. Luther spent most of her married life pregnant or nursing. Never underestimate the sex appeal of good theology, I guess. :^)
The reference was to "Caddyshack."
Two guys walk into a bar. They should've ducked.
the celebacy doctrine doesnt exist, as it is not a doctrine.
it is a required discipline.
entirely different.
doctrines never change, though they can be expanded upon as fuller understanding is attained.
a discipline can be changed by simple decree.
She was also quite the brewmistress.
Dan-I heard a different version of that joke:
Three guys what into a bar. You would think one of them had seen it.
