1897 - Dracula, a novel by Irish author Bram Stoker is published.
I've never read the book, but it struck me because all through high school and college my nickname was 'Drac.' Don't get the wrong idea, I wasn't a blood-sucking vampire. It's just that my incisor teeth are rather pointy, and prominent when I smile. I haven't been called that for years though.
