1861 - American Civil War: Fort Sumter surrenders to Confederate forces.

For crying out loud, the battle just started yesterday, what was the deal with these wienies.

They must have been using the classic Minnesota Viking's defense. That's the strategy where if you absolutely need to stop a team from scoring, and it's 3rd and 30, you let the QB (no matter how awful or inexperienced he is) sit in the pocket all day and ultimately find a wide open receiver 31 yards from the line of scrimmage. Then you let them score easily from there and they capture the fort.
