Man, what a day, I may need to take tomorrow off to recuperate from my day off

First: the physical. I got a shot in each arm, I had blood drawn, I gave a urine sample, and I had a digit inserted where the sun don't shine; and Gino, I can't say that I can make any comparisons as to whether the doctor had thick or skinny fingers, I don't have any baseline data to make that kind of distinction. The good news is that the prostate is evidently within acceptable limits as to its current size. Now it's a matter of waiting on the blood work. I'm a little concerned because I've had some concerns about diabetes recently; I'm praying it comes back negative.

Now, on to the movie. I guess I should have done a little more research. Epic Movie was rated pg-13, and the trailers we saw made it out to be a spoof on some of the blockbuster movies that have been out recently. I thought it would be along the lines of Airplane or any of Leslie Neilsen's police movies. We walked out after 15 minutes and the manager let us go into a different movie. It was loaded with inappropriate images and sexual innuendo that just made us cringe with the kids there. Even if it had been just MM and I, I think we would have walked out. Anyway, lesson learned on checking out PG-13 movies a little closer.

What we did see was Bridge to Terribithia (sp). That was a very good, though rather slow, movie that taught some good life lessons and had an interesting story line to it. I got a little bored with it; but Mocha-momma really enjoyed it.

I'm very happy to see Gabrielle is back in the comments. I'll be heading over there to check on her first post back to see how she is.

You really need to bookmark www.screenit.com; every Friday the site reviews the latest releases and gives a very detailed report of how much swearing, violence, sex, etc. is in the movie. Great reference. The "free" site is loaded with pop-ups, but a year's subscription is around $24 (less than a family of four going to the movies) and you don't get the pop-ups. The site also has a huge archive, for when you're considering movies from Netflix.
