The king made it to 50; long live the king

I hit this milestone; but you know what, I don't feel that different (at least mentally) than I did 20 years ago. The body is showing some signs of decay---my eyes are in terrible shape, there are alot more aches and pains; but thankfully that's due to just being out of shape. I've been very, very blessed in that I have never had any major medical problems in my life.

It's just another day in a series of days that all lead up to that point where we will spend the rest of eternity with our Lord; but, it is fun to make it and treat it as something special. Mocha-momma really surprised me on my 40th; today is just going to be spent with my loving family---we're going to catch a move (A Night At The Museum), than later we're going to make some homemade pizza. (which is what I always chose for birthday dinner when I was a kid)

The main celebration is going to be this Saturday night, the 6th; we're going to Nye's Polonaise up in Nordeast Minneapolis, a fine Polish establishment that offers a piano bar in the main dining area and a polka band for dancing in the back. We have reservations for 6:00 pm, and we're inviting our MOBster friends to stop by if you can. Gino, Steve, Mercy, LC: you guys should be able to catch flights for MSP that day and still get back home on Sunday. We have plenty of floor space for you to crash that night. For the locals, Nye's is on Hennepin, just down the street from kramarczuk's deli, which is just down the street from Keegans.

I still have about 5 years to go before all the senior citizen discounts start kicking in; on the other hand, recommended prostate exams start at 50, so I have that to look forward to. I take heart in an old saying my brother likes to quote, "You're only as old as the women you feel." Mocha-momma is 10 years younger, so I'll always be 10 years younger than my chronological age.

Saturday night eh? That's well "nye" a certainty. One way or the other, happy birthday to you and keep collecting wisdom and fear of the Lord along with those aches and pains.
