Well, I’ve been blogging for a little over a month now, and as Maxwell Smart would say----loving it. The best move I’ve made so far is getting hooked up with the MOB. Thank you to Doug and MOBANGE! for forwarding on my site and getting it listed by the Fraters crew. I haven’t been able to attend a MOB event as of yet, but it is definitely on my to-do list, probably as soon as the kids are back in school and we don’t have activities every night of the week. I’ve been tickled pink to have had some hits from people like Cathy (in the Wright) and Uncle Ben (Hammerswing75) These are blogs I’ve checked out in the past, and it was nice to see they found mine and posted welcome comments.
I’m still in the baby step mode of operations. I know enough to get by, but would like to get better with my formatting and adding other little things. (I don’t know anything about HTML coding, I learn a lot by trial and error, but my preferred mode would be to take a class and learn it from an expert)
As to my content and purpose, I don’t think I’m going to change much. I love checking out things at Powerline, Michelle Malkin, Townhall, etc.; but I definitely don’t have the time, energy, knowledge nor brainpower to be in that league. Like my profile says, I’d like my site to be a little oasis in the middle of this vast arena of blogging; where right-thinking bloggers can take a break from the intensity of these other great sites, and just be entertained and find some humor along the way. I’d like to make the acquaintance of other local MOBsters and partake of the fun that I read about.
If any of you veteran bloggers have advice or suggestions, let me know. I was taking my wife on a tour of some of these sites that I check out; we read up on Uncle Ben, Night Writer, Reverend Mother and Mall Diva. I told her she’s going to need a handle as well, instead of me just saying my wife. So Katherine is going to go with Mocha Momma, my son is “the Jellyfish” (not derogatory, he was stung by one in Corpus Christi and it’s become an inside joke with our family) and my daughter will be “the Bear.” (she was born with a cleft palate and had her tongue sewed to her front lip for the first year of her life, she use to make growling noises and we started calling her our bear, it stuck) (The rest of our menagerie includes one cat, Socks, whom we all love to death; two guinea pigs--the girls; and the recent editions, three betta fishies)

It was a pleasure to find your site and I come back regularly because what you write is really interesting.
Last year, almost to the day, Noodles (who use to run People's Republic of Minnesota and now posts at Freedom Dogs) gave me some help with html and getting a site meter. I'd be happy to offer what I've learned in the past year. Shoot me an email at profworley@yahoo.com.
Good news, we were able to farm out the kids on September 9. We are definitely going to be there that night. I'll whip off an e-mail to Cathy and see about car pooling in. Mocha-momma is just about as excited as I am to meet everyone. Maybe after a visit to Keegans, she'll want to change to Irish Coffee-momma.
