If they only had a brain

I’ve decided to become a liberal. It just seems that no matter how much logic, common-sense and reasoning that right leaning individuals and organizations use, there is just no way of curing a psychologically disordered left leaning democrat. It might be a breath of fresh air to not have to base my beliefs on truths and facts that can be demonstrated legally, scientifically, historically, etc, etc. Just imagine the different abilities you could acquire by becoming a liberal.

You could become an instant climatologist, no need to get a degree. Just imagine, all you have to do is sit through an hour and a half movie, produced by a known pathological liar and someone who’s scratching and clawing to maintain some type of relevance in world affairs, and you come out an expert in global warming. Never mind that numerous, well-respected scientists who have devoted their lives to this study have come out totally against this hypothesis and debunk it. You don’t need to debate the issue. You just need to say you saw the movie.

Then there are all the fields you can become expert in just by simply watching PBS. After a few weeks of watching Nova, Frontline and a few National Geographic specials, you can become an evolutionist, a constitutional scholar, an economist, a historian, a military genius, etc, etc. Again, never mind that this leftist propaganda machine is only concerned with presenting their slanted view of the world, if it’s on TV, it must all be true. You don’t need to be bothered with actually researching the information yourself and seeing what types of facts and data the opposing view point has. In regards to evolution for instance---it doesn’t matter that many of the world’s leading evolutionists themselves are quoted as saying the theory is full of holes and no proof exists; but as long as the only other option is God, they’ll continue to believe the impossible and unproven.

Lastly, you’d have a license to be as hypocritical as you can be regarding nearly every major issue that is out there today. Imagine the freedom of being able to protest vehemently the treatment of chickens on the way to KFC restaurants, and in the same breath support and defend the right of doctors to go in and torture and kill unborn babies in partial birth abortions. How wonderful would it be to hide behind the skirts of the First Amendment and loudly proclaim freedom of speech for yourself; but then turn around and do all you can to demonize, censor and sue any individual or group that opposes your viewpoint. In regards to race relations, you could sing “We are the World” and quote Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech, especially the part of being judged on the content of character; then, turn around and play the race card in every single issue where minority character is sorely lacking and blame it all on hate-filled, racist, white European males.

Oh I could go on and on. It is sorely tempting to make that leap and join the liberal side. There is one part in the decision making process that is holding me back from actually making the change---that’s the mandatory lobotomy required to become a card-carrying liberal.
