Highway games

Evidently the construction project of widening Hwy 494 to six lanes is almost done in Minnetonka. I use to drive that route everyday in rush hour traffic. The crawl of traffic going home at night was a drag, but I started playing a little game to pass the time.

My game would start at the intersection of Hwy 5 in Eden Prairie, and I’d stop once we got to Hwy 394. At the start, the first person who cut in front of me, and then immediately cut back into the left lane would be my player. I’d guess how many times they would cut back and forth between lanes in that 5 mile stretch of highway. I just stayed in the right lane the whole way and putzed along with the other normal people. It would totally amaze me to see the impatience of some drivers.

The record----drum roll please----15. There was a woman who made 15 lane changes in that small stretch of road. When we got to 394, she was just 1 car in front of me.

I don’t want to get started on the peeves I have when it comes to driving, if I started now I’d take up the same amount of space as I’ve already used up in all my posts. Just like the jokes and favorite quotes, maybe I’ll start a little quick post giving my peeves from time to time.
