Month of June: National Accordion Awareness Month


Like it's cousin, the bagpipe, you either absolutely hate it, or you can tolerate it. My dad played the accordion as a young man; of course he grew up in Hamtramck MI, Polish capital of America. I'm not sure when he quit playing, but I can't remember ever hearing him play it. I do remember one sitting in a storage pile in our basement. That might be a fun hobby to take up in my elder years.
