We defied death and landed in Harlingen with no problems

I was quite pleasantly surprised when everything went so smoothly on our way flying out. I haven't flown in 10 years, so the whole security craze had me a little concerned; but it turned out to be no problem at all. We got there about 2 hours before the flight left, so we ended up sitting around the gate for quite a while.

Our plane did get out 1/2 hour late; but that wasn't bad compared to some of the other Sun Country flights, many of them were 2-3 hours late.

The only screw-up on the plane was that Hannah and I were put in a row, the only row on the entire plane, that did not have a window. That's why we chose our seating the way we did, me and Hannah in 10A & 10B, JR and MM in 9A & 9B, that way both kids would have a window, and we could talk over the seats. Oh, well, Hannah absolutely loved her first flight anyway.

Once into Harlingen, everything went well with getting our luggage and checking out the rental car. It's about a 45 minute drive from Harlingen to Mission, so we got to our parent's house about 10:30 on Saturday night. We knew we were in South Texas by the fact that 90% of the radio stations are spanish speaking. You haven't heard "Pretty Woman" until you've heard it sung in Spanish.

The weather hasn't been real hot, but Sunday the kids swam for about 4 hours in the pool.
