Two weeks to Texas:

Two weeks and we're on a plane to southern Texas. We're getting excited. We had a little reminder of a past trip yesterday, it's one of those moments that we will remember the rest of our lives, particularly because it involves a song, and when we hear it, the memory always comes back.

Anybody ever been to the San Antonio River Walk. We love San Antonio, although we won't get there this year. Every year we've driven, we stop in San Antonio, and always go to the river walk area downtown. One year we took the tour boat trip around the channels, and the tour guide told us about a special musical group that played outside the City Center Mall during the lunch hour. He recommended going to listen to them if we had the chance.

The group was a Peruvian folk band that played all kinds of indiginous musical instruments. We just happened to be walking through the mall later and saw that they were playing. We stepped out onto a little balcony that looked down upon the stage area. Mocha-momma was just taken with the music. She immediately mentioned how enchanting the music was and that she loved the instruments they were playing. I listened for a moment or two and finally wrapped my mind around the melody---it was Hotel California.

Yeah, beautiful Peruvian folk tune there Katherine. I didn't know the Eagles were doing covers for Peruvian folk music. We just heard the Eagle's version again yesterday, and as I've done everytime we've heard that song over the last few years, I took the opportunity to remind MM about how much she loved the enchanting and exotic Peruvian version of the song.
