Sales of Rap Albums Take Stunning Nosedive (FoxNews)
Maybe it was the umpteenth coke-dealing anthem or soft-porn music video. Perhaps it was the preening antics that some call reminiscent of Stepin Fetchit.
The turning point is hard to pinpoint. But after 30 years of growing popularity, rap music is now struggling with an alarming sales decline and growing criticism from within about the culture's negative effect on society.
Hip-Hop/Rap and Kenny G music: if you've heard one song, you've heard it all. Everything sounds exactly the same.
I'd rather listen to about 12 hours of Alvin and the Chipmunks than 12 minutes of rap. Forget the fact that it was primarily idiotic white teen-agers who bought the stuff; the whole hip-hop culture is a disgrace to blacks and degrades the musical heritage of countless wonderful black entertainers.
