Is that a catfish in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me.

Woman sentenced for smuggling fish in her dress (StarTrib)
Sharon Naismith, 45, was caught in June 2005 at the airport in the southern city of Melbourne after customs officers heard "flipping'' noises coming from her clothes and conducted a search, Australian Customs said.
In a specially made apron under her dress, they found 15 plastic bags filled with water and fish: one rare Asian arowana that customs said was worth tens of thousands of dollars, and 14 catfish.

OK, she made it all the way to Australia from Singapore and nobody else noticed flipping noises coming out of her. What about the person sitting next to her on the plane? If it was me, I would have been thinking: where's the hidden camera; the woman next to me sounds like a floppy crappie, this must be a joke.

Also, what is so special about this fish?
Asian arowanas are considered "lucky" by many people, particularly those from Asian cultures. This reputation derives from the species' resemblance to the Chinese dragon, considered an auspicious symbol. The large metallic scales and double barbels are features shared by the Chinese dragon, and the large pectoral fins are said to make the fish resemble "a dragon in full flight."
In addition, positive Feng Shui associations with water and the colours red and gold make these fishes popular for aquariums. One belief is that while water is a place where chi gathers, it is naturally a source of yin energy and must contain an "auspicious" fish such as an arowana in order to have balancing yang energy. Another is that a fish can preserve its owner from death by dying itself. (Wikipedia)

Well, I guess that explains why they're worth thousands of dollars. I thought it must have been some special sushi dish.

I think we'll stick with our $7.00 tetras: Ole, Capt. Jack and Erin. I think they do the same thing: I always notice a big change in my yin and yang when we move them around the house. I just can't find the right Feng Shui set up.
