I didn't know deer were diabetic

Scent-seeing mission (Star Tribune)
Seeking out yellow snow might go against everything your mother warned you about as a kid, but it's the path to follow if you want to collect your own deer urine to use for hunting.

According to biologists, a deer urinates about nine times per day, a total of about a half-gallon. The best place to find "yellow snow" is where deer are feeding and along the trails leading to those feeding areas. Deer often urinate in and near their beds, so also look for bedding areas. South-facing slopes and field edges, as well as evergreen cover, are locations often used by deer to bed down. A fresh snowfall will cover urine marks so wait as long as possible between snowstorms to search for deer urine spots.

I can't decide what I find more odd: that a deer uninates 9 times a day, or that this guy actually makes it a hobby to go out and collect deer urine. I wonder if this would work with squirrels. I may start a squirrel urine collecting hobby. I'm not a squirrel hunter, I'd just be in it for the challenge and to have fun.

Label the containers of urine so a family member doesn't mistake it for iced tea, or some other palatable liquid.

Ice tea? I thought it would be more along the line of Mountain Dew. I would say since mental illness tends to be genetic, there are probably members of his family who would drink it even if it is labeled 'deer urine.'

Gino, you see what you're missing out on by not living in a snowy location. You'll have to start taking vacations up to MN so you can go urine collecting. I might even start my own urine collecting guide business.
