Man accidentally sticks himself to his roof with tar (StarTribune)
BERLIN— A 91-year-old German man was rescued Tuesday from a sticky situation.
The retiree from the eastern city of Magdeburg had been taking advantage of good spring weather to re-tar the roof of his garden house when he slipped and became glued to the structure himself.
Rescuers were able to free the man, whose name was not released, by prying him loose — bit by bit — from the gooey mess.
Authorities said the man wasn't hurt, but his clothes were a write-off.
I have to admire the fact that the guy is 91 years old and he's up on his roof doing manual labor.
I wonder what a 91 year old would think about as he's lying there unable to move. Was he thinking: I survived WWII, and now I'm going to die stuck to the roof of my garden house because I fell into a patch of tar?
MM has been reminding me that I need to do some work on our roof when the weather gets nice. I'm not taking any chances, where can a guy go to buy signal flares around here.
