No lifelong health benefit found from antioxidants (Star Tribune)
Adding to a growing scientific consensus, results of a large Danish study released Tuesday found that vitamin E and other antioxidant supplements provide no health benefits and may even produce a small increase in the risk of death.
Just follow a simple rule: don't ever, ever, ever, believe anything that these researchers come out with from their studies; because whatever they say, within months or a few years some other researchers will say the exact opposite.

Funny, isn't it?
A statistical reason and a pragmatic reason why this happens. First, nobody ever makes full professor by accepting the "null hypothesis" of "well, this really doesn't change anything. You get it by challenging the status quo, whether you're right or wrong.
Second, doing stats with people is troublesome because, well, we're kinda like our gracious host; a bit ornery, and that throws a monkey wrench in the deal.
bubba; are you implying I'm ornery. I don't think I'm ornery; although having just passed 50, and getting recruited by the AARP, maybe I am moving into that ornery phase.
Being a nonsensologist; I just find that I get a little more worked up than most with things I find unwarranted nonsense versus whimsical nonsense.
Of course a Danish would say that antioxidants provide no health benefits, What else would you expect from a cheese filled pastry?
