Actually, the story I saw along with it was that a very talented artist was commissioned by some company (I can't recall who) to do these kinds of painting for an ad campaign. 
Mocha-momma does face painting as a side job. I wonder if she could do this.

Senor Wences is rolling over in his grave. Wasn't there a guy on the Ed Sullivan Show who painted his hand like a face and do a ventriloquist act. There may be about 5 of us who'd remember that.
