My blogging experience just got better

We just opened our presents, Christmas morning--2006.

Mocha-momma is with Hannah-Bear, setting up her new sewing machine and preparing to do her first sewing project.

JR is in his room getting the feel of his leather working tools. He had done some projects at Boy Scout camp this last fall and loved it.

And me, I just set up a wireless mouse for my laptop. Why didn't I do this sooner? I hate using those little finger pads.

What to do all day? We have craft projects, two new DVD's (Pirates of the Caribbean and Monty Python's Holy Grail), two DVD games (Gab It and Disney's Scene It) JR got an indoor remote controlled helicopter (which I want to start playing with), and two PS2 games (Lord of the Rings and Ace Combat 0)

To many options. It seems like we got alot of electronic stuff; but thankfully our kids get into arts and crafts just as much as that stuff. We also have to be on our toes because JR got some nerf dart gun set from grandma/grandpa and we're all big game targets now.

We also need to get started cooking up the prime rib for dinner. We had a tradition going of cooking up a Polish feast for X-mas day; but last year MM decided to switch to a prime rib dinner. Being the romantic that I am, I got MM an electronic meat thermometer and timer; which actually was a bigger hit than had I gotten her some type of jewelry. I'm glad I got it, because at $27 for 2.5 pounds of prime rib, there better not be any mistakes in cooking that slab of cow. I know my wife and her loves, and kitchen accessories score big points in our household.

It's a beautiful, sunny, gorgeous X-mas day. I'm off to start doing some cooking. I need to get the sour cream cucumbers made, one of my very favorite sides. I'll catch you all later.

Cream cucumbers? Eh?

Those helicopters look fun. I might buy one with my gift money.

I am, and this is my trusty servant Patsy. We have ridden the length and breadth of the land in search of knights who will join me in my court at Camelot. I must speak with your lord and master.

What? Ridden on a horse?

Yes!

You're using coconuts!
You've got two empty halves of coconut and you're bangin' 'em together.

Gino, I thought you were in CA? Isn't everthing more expensive there? How did you find $4/lb?
You friends wit da butcher? And actually it wasn't to my taste. I like mine fairly rare and the cooking time from the butcher gave us a medium well. But that way the children and Dave were happy. I will just have to buy a pound for me and one for them next time.
