Vatican archaeologists unearth what they think is St. Paul's tomb
Vatican archaeologists have unearthed a sarcophagus believed to contain the remains of the Apostle Paul that had been buried beneath Rome's second largest basilica.
Our objective was to bring the remains of the tomb back to light for devotional reasons, so that it could be venerated and be visible,'' said Giorgio Filippi, the Vatican archaeologist who headed the project at St. Paul Outside the Walls basilica.
Do you think this guy ever actually read the writings of the Apostle Paul? If he did, I think he might have an understanding that Paul would probably not want to have his remains venerated if it meant people would be mis-directed from true and proper worship of God the Father and Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Great idea if you want to prove the veracity of New Testament writings and that Paul's story was true and accurate. Not a great idea if you want to suck in the masses to worship a coffin and maybe add to the coffers of the Vatican.
