The documented ones are sillier than made up ones

The Phobia List

JR was reading off some joke phobias that he stumbled on; so I decided to google phobias and came on this site. It alphabetically categorizes a list of phobias that the author has tracked and documented since he got interested in this as a hobby. I'm not quite sure on some of them, as it seems you can take any word, add phobia, and voila--you have a fear. Some of them are pretty silly of course; here's some from his list:

Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions
Aulophobia- Fear of flutes
Helminthophobia- Fear of being infested with worms
Levophobia- Fear of things to the left side of the body
Macrophobia- Fear of long waits.
Medomalacuphobia- Fear of losing an erection
Politicophobia- Fear or abnormal dislike of politicians
Rectophobia- Fear of rectum or rectal diseases.
Scabiophobia- Fear of scabies.
Scatophobia- Fear of fecal matter.
Syngenesophobia- Fear of relatives
Taeniophobia or Teniophobia- Fear of tapeworms
Venustraphobia- Fear of beautiful women

I have a bunch of these fears---I wouldn't particularly care to get tapeworms, scabies or rectal diseases.

ginophobia---fear that Gino is hunting you down like a deer in Georgia
nonsenseaphobia---fear of reading The Far Wright
