The Muslims are causing more trouble in Minnesota. (at least it’s not rioting, murder and other mayhem) This time its Somali cab drivers at the airport refusing to accept passengers who are carrying liquor that they purchased duty-free and bringing back from their trips. It sounds like the Airport Commission may be pushing back and nipping this idiotic appeasement of unreasonable and irrational demands by a minority who are failing to assimilate into American culture in the bud.
My question is this: it starts with liquor, but what about other things? What if they refuse to transport someone carrying a Bible? What if some woman is wearing a short skirt that they don’t approve of? My main thought regarding this: what if someone is carrying meat? When we use to visit relatives in Detroit, we’d always come back with a case full of Kowalski’s Kielbasa. They make the best smoked kielbasa around. The aroma was heavenly, but strong. So would they refuse you fare if you’re carrying a bag of pork products.
If they have a problem doing their job because of personal beliefs, get another job. Seems like a simple fix to me. Either that or shut your pie-hole and understand that other people in the world drink liquor and eat pork.
There’s some other story out there about a group of Muslims working at a Minnesota food plant who filed a racial and religious federal lawsuit because the company wasn’t accommodating them well enough so that they could pray towards Mecca at the right times of the day. So, again, the self-absorption of these people and their demands of make sure I’m accommodated at the expense of other people, co-workers, is ridiculous. Again, you want to accommodate your beliefs, get a different job. It’s not an employer’s responsibility to meet all your demands, it’s your responsibility to find a job where you can live with the requirements and still be able to satisfy your belief system.

I have a belief system that calls for me to pray every other hour of the day. This means my employer must pay me 8 hours but I only get to work four. My belief also tells me I can smoke whatever type of plant I want. I'm being sarcastic of course.
Glad to know you agree that if pharmacists object to filling prescriptions, they should find another job.
Well, well, well. Anonymous. Are you the same leftist twit who leaves your trail of slime on Little Cicero's site. Well, I'm gonna change my settings for posting comments, because I'm not gonna enable a self-inflicted psychologically impaired coward to post without giving an opportunity to check out what you have to offer on the blogospere. And you know what, I agree. If a pharmacist is working for an employer such as Target, they should be filling them out. If they own their own business, they can choose to refuse providing whatever they want. If these cabbies are independant contractors, it's their call; when they work for an employer who doesn't have that policy, then they better take fares no matter what they feel about what the passenger is transporting.
