Cheese Aficionados Hit Vermont Trail
By LISA RATHKE, Associated Press Writer
GRANVILLE, Vt. — The biggest investment Daniel Hewitt made on his sheep farm was a cheese plant that features a tasting room with a view _ visitors can watch the art of cheesemaking while sampling his European-style tommes and blue cheeses.
Uncle Ben has recently satirized the entrepreneurial streak I was on; but I think most of my readers realized that all of the ideas were thrown out in jest, and that they had no chance of becoming reality. This time I think I may have come up with a sure-fire winner however, based on this story off of FoxNews.
I don’t know anything about cheesemaking; but I do know about ‘cutting the cheese.’ The idea is to open up a ‘cheese-cutting’ room, where visitors can come in and smell the various aromas that can be generated from eating different kinds of foods. The first thing I need to do………………..
OK, I’ll stop now. As Larry the Cable Guy would say; “Lord, I apologize for this stupid joke.” I won’t carry it any further; but you know, I bet its stupid enough that it might just work. If someone does it in the future and makes a fortune, I’m going to be very, very, bummed. (As much as sophisticates like ourselves try and think otherwise, potty humor still works) (Mocha-momma, don't give me a hard time when you read this)
