R.I.P. Crocodile Hunter

'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin is killed
Associated Press

As the song says, "only the good, (and PETA nutcases) die young." Steve Irwin joined the long list of people who have been killed by the misunderstood and 'no threat to humans if you treat them respectfully' members of the animal kingdom.

I liked Steve, and I enjoyed watching his shows. As I posted earlier, I enjoy and respect watching and listening to people who are truly passionate about something they love (with exceptions of course), and anyone who watched his show even once could not deny his passion. He seemed to me to be fairly rational and understanding of both sides of the human/animal kingdom relationship, so I can't say that he was a true PETA nutcase as I would define it.

Obviously, our prayers and condolences go out to his wife and children. He definitely went out with his boots on, as the saying goes, and died doing what he loved. Whether or not that matters when leaving behind a wife and small children is a matter of opinion and a question you have to answer for yourself.
