Mere Christianity (apologies to CS Lewis)

I'm no theologian. I try to keep my Christianity simple, and live by some basic rules. I'm going to add this section weekly and share some of what I learn and have learned over the years. One of the biggest things I've learned is that becoming a born again Christian is easy, becoming a disciple (a disciplined believer) and walking the walk is about the hardest thing I've tried to do.(followed closely by trying to be a good parent) Anyway, here's the first basic thought, one that my former pastor had reiterated on an almost weekly basis:

Faith is a relationship, not a formula. The focus of our faith is not doctrine, not tradition, not the church, not our pastor, etc.----it is all about Jesus; getting to know Him, trying to be like Him, and helping to make Him known to others.
