Unqualified to lead

Let’s take a look at some recent examples out of downtown Minneapolis---the ex-school superintendent and the currently suspended (but still getting paid) fire chief. One was an under-qualified, non-certified minority woman who had an African sounding name, so naturally she was chosen over a superior candidate who happened to be a white male. The second is a lesbian who evidently wasn’t able to keep her hands off the hired help, and seemingly could not keep her lesbianism a private issue and concentrate on the job she was hired for.

Ladies, don’t jump the gun on me here. My beef isn’t that these were women in tough managerial roles; my problem is that they were LIBERAL women in tough managerial roles. I’ve had a number of female managers in my time, and without exception I’ve respected them and had no problems accepting their leadership. Of course they weren’t in such high profile and demanding positions. I think there are enough examples of right-minded women out there that prove women could do these jobs. I would also vote for a woman for any public office position, even president; but again, only if they were right-minded and demonstrated their capabilities and abilities previously.

The problem with these two women is that the city of Minneapolis made hiring decisions based on political correctness criteria versus hiring the best candidate period. The StarTrib has a current article on the garbage that is taking place within the Minneapolis Fire Department, and it sounds like something right out of a Hollywood soap opera.

Politics aside, the cost to the city in dealing with these liberal hirelings is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars right now. That is money that could have been spent on making the streets of Minneapolis safer, instead, they may as well have had a bonfire during the aquatennial activities and burned a couple hundred grand in cash.
