Close, but no cigar.

As some of you may know, they just had the PGA Championship, the last of the 4 major tournaments this year. The official web site is pga.com, and they have a fantasy tournament during each of the majors. What they do is have 4 groups of 15 golfers and you have to pick out 2 players from each group. The players in the first group are like the best 15 in the world---so you can't load up your 8-man team with all of those. The guys in each successive group are a little further down on the talent scale, but the points they earn are multiplied 2x, 3x or 4x according to the group they're in. The only way they earn points is if they finish in the top 20 during each round of the tournament.
I've done this for 2 years now and have never finished higher than about 500. I just finished this tournament in 2nd place. Six of my eight guys finished in the top 20. Man, I thought I might have had it, but I started this last round about 3,000 points behind the leader and couldn't make it up. I ended up about 2,000 points out of first, but beat the 3rd place guy by 6,000 points.
I'm a little vague on what I won, it's either a wedge iron or a pga championship shirt. I hope it's the shirt. The grand prize was a $200 putter. It worked out OK because I have enough putters that I got from my brother Steve. Anyway, not earth shattering; but I was pretty excited.
